It has been wonderful to see the trapped Chilean miners lifted to freedom. The emotional reuniting of miners and families, was simply heartwarming.
Think about the tremendous effort by so many different countries to bring together experts, along with technology and materials in cooperation with the Chilean government.
Media from countries around the world, including North Korea, are present and providing info to an estimated 1 billion following this event.
This is an example of what we can be, but so are the the terrorists who blow themselves up in crowds of innocent people. Killing, in many cases, many more than will be rescued in Chile.
It is unfortunate that we have so much in common with the dark side of humanity. We live in the 21st century, yet we believe mythology that is hundreds and even thousands of years old. There is a constant tension between old myths and reality. We will move forward, but not without a battle.
The effort to rescue the Chilean miners shows us our potential.
